Los habitantes de Peralta y Falces consumen, desde hoy, en sus domicilios, agua proveniente del pantano de Itoiz, suministrada a través del Canal de Navarra y la Mancomunidad de Aguas de Mairaga. Asimismo, próximamente, dicha agua, apta para consumo humano e industrial, también llegará a otras siete localidades como son Mélida, Caparroso, Rada, Carcastillo, Figarol, Murillo el Fruto y Santacara, y en una fase posterior, también podrá disponer de ella los municipios de Marcilla, Villafranca, Funes, Milagro y Cadreita.
Durante la última semana la Mancomunidad de Mairaga ha procedido al llenado del depósito de la estación de tratamiento de agua potable (ETAP) de La Pedrera, donde se sitúa la toma del Canal de Navarra y desde la que se suministra el agua de boca a ambas localidades. Además, ha sido necesario proceder al vaciado de las conducciones y al nuevo llenado de la red de tuberías con el agua procedente del Canal. Hasta ahora, el agua consumida por los habitantes de Peralta y Falces provenía de los bombeos de pozos situados en el aluvial del río Aragón; de una calidad inferior al agua proveniente de Itoiz.
El consejero de Cohesión Territorial, Bernardo Ciriza, ha visitado hoy Peralta, donde ha destacado “el impacto positivo que este hecho supone en la calidad de vida de los vecinos y vecinas de estas localidades que, por ejemplo, ya no se verán obligados a consumir agua embotellada. El agua es un bien preciado que debe estar disponible, en cantidad y calidad suficiente para toda la población, en el menor tiempo posible; y esto hoy es una realidad para los vecinos y vecinas de Peralta y Falces”.
Entre los trabajos previos a la llegada del agua de boca, destacada la ejecución de las obras de conexión con la ETAP de la Pedrera en Tafalla por un importe total de 9,8 millones de euro, de los cuales el Gobierno de Navarra aportó 6,5 millones a través del Plan de Inversiones Locales 2017-2019, y la Mancomunidad de Mairaga 3,3 millones. Además, en los últimos días la Mancomunidad de Mairaga ha formalizado con CANASA el acuerdo que permite este suministro de agua desde el Canal de Navarra con un caudal máximo de 100 litros por segundo y un volumen de 3Hm3.
Cabe destacar que el suministro del agua de boca a estos municipios ha coincidido con la reciente finalización de los trabajos de construcción del Canal de Navarra a su paso por Peralta, que han dado por terminado el conocido como Ramal del Arga de la ampliación de la 1ª fase. De esta manera queda concluida la construcción y puesta en servicio del proyecto Itoiz-Canal de Navarra en la zona, garantizando el suministro de los recursos de agua para consumo humano, de riego e industrial.
Reparto de 200 botellas de cristal por parte de Mairaga
Para poner en valor la llegada del agua a estas primeras localidades, la Mancomunidad de Mairaga ha repartido entre los vecinos y vecinas de Peralta 200 botellas de cristal.
El acto, celebrado junto a la fuente del Paseo del Rio Arga, ha contado con la presencia del Consejero de Cohesión Territorial, Bernardo Ciriza, el director general de Administración Local y Despoblación, Jesús María Rodriguez, el subdirector de INTIA, Joaquin Puig, el Presidente de la Mancomunidad de Mairaga, Jorge Bacaicoa, así como del alcalde de Peralta, Juan Carlos Castillo y la alcaldesa de Falces, Sara Fernández.
En el acto, Ciriza ha recordado la “relevancia estratégica del Canal de Navarra como elemento de equilibro territorial, y como un proyecto clave para mejorar la cantidad, calidad y garantía de los abastecimientos urbanos, proyectado para satisfacer las demandas hídricas actuales y futuras que permite a Navarra adelantarse a las posibles consecuencias del cambio climático”.
